I Bought the Wrong Inverter | Mr. Locksmith™ White Rock Video

I bought the wrong inverter. I wanted to be able to put it in my service truck or my camper or whatever, but this is for my service truck. So I wanted to be able to take 12 volts from the battery and be able to plug in 110 key machines. Now, in theory, this is a great deal. This was on sale for like $100, it is a 12 volt to 110 volt Modified sine wave 2,000-watt inverter, it’s more than I need, it’s going be perfect for my key machines. So I thought. I’m not an expert on inverters but the first thing I learned is there are actually two types: Modified Sine Wave and Pure Sine Wave

That will be great for the key machines. However, this is a modified sine and what I need is the pure or the regular Sine Wave. So the problem you’ll run across between the regular wave which is considered clean, and this modified one which is squared off is the modified wave is not good for if you are running computers. So it’s not as clean. That’s why they’re really inexpensive. It is going to cost me two, three, four times more money for getting the proper one I want. And the reason I am not going to use this one, it will do the trick for the basic duplicator key machines, however my Miracle A9S and also my ITL are code machines and they run circuit boards, they are like mini little computers on there. I am going to have to take it back now, it’s really really good but it’s a Modified Wave and I can’t use this on my computer key machines. I’m risking problems. I could be wrong, I am not going to take a chance, I will go out there and get the proper one for my locksmith service truck.

The coronavirus is spreading all over the world. I did a video back at the beginning of January 2020, I said this is going to hit us hard, locksmiths, be prepared. Now it’s here, they’re shutting down borders, they’re stopping flights. It is affecting business. In some areas, we’ve had big drops in our business. But now we’re seeing an increase in other parts of the businesses and this is an opportunity for locksmiths. Public events are shutting down but now they want to restrict more access and they’re rekeying the locks to stop people from going into other areas. Seniors homes, they now have to restrict access because of the coronavirus and they are rekeying all their exterior doors. So there are huge opportunities.


Businesses are more vulnerable. We just had a bunch of churches got broken into because they’re not as busy with shutting down community events so they’re quiet and the burglars can’t bust into the homes because everybody’s home so now they’re breaking into churches. I’m just gonna leave right now, I’m going to a church and we’re gonna have to secure it down.

Locksmiths, you can do a couple of things. You can cocoon up and just ride it out or you can go out there and help secure your community and make some money too.

They are shutting down borders, shutting down air flights but is an opportunity, locksmiths. Go out there, be prepared, do some basic stuff call your clients, give them some security ideas. They are fearful, they need some expert guidance.

Two very simple methods are as follows:

  1. Disconnect the power to the garage door.
  2. A bolt or padlock in the Garage door track / rails.

Hi, I’m Terry from Mr. Locksmith Garage Door Repair Abbotsford. In this video, I’m going to show you how to secure your home garage door. There are very simple methods, when you go away on vacation, to secure your home garage door, and make it safe. So you’re going on vacation. What’s the simplest way to secure your garage door?

The simplest way is to just disconnect your garage door. No power, nobody can use anything to open up this garage door, using keypads or remotes or whatever. So the simplest method to secure your garage door just pulls the plug. Simple, to the point, done.

What you’re trying to do is prevent them from forcing the garage door open. So if you put a bolt in here, it’s gonna secure it pretty good too. Or put your padlock to secure it. So again, just padlock, you can have it keyed to the house. Of course, I have Abloys, I’ve got lots of Abloys. So again, you have a… Just a bolt in the hole here, stops the roller from going up. Or put a padlock in, stops somebody from breaking into your house, opening up your door, and pulling your stuff out. So again, secure, padlock… You can do one on each side, or just one does the trick. The good thing with this is it stops them from, slows them down, from forcing the door open. But also, if they do bust into your house, they can’t take all your stuff out the garage door, which is pretty popular. A bolt would do the trick, padlocked is best. Of course, I like my Abloy padlocks. Another way of securing your garage door. I like to get a bigger pair, I can’t find them right now. But if something, this is quick. You just want to be above the roller. Put a vice grip in there. Lock her down. Bigger pair is better. You can run one of these, two of these, do whatever. Short, fast, vice grips. Bolt in there or padlock in there. Does the trick.

So we have a new “toy”, from LockTech. Instead of an unboxing, we will call it an “unbagging”. It’s a full set from AccuReader LockTech. And this is the ignition removal tools. A onewhole set, is all four of them. Rather than buy one at a time, just buy the whole thing. It would save you some money. And again, this is an unbagging, not unboxing. It has never been opened, and it will be the first time of us “playing” with it. We’ve been using AccuReader LockTech’s tools for years, so it is the first time getting like the whole little set here.

So get that there. It is a total unbagging. They’re easy to tell apart which is kinda cool. So we’ve got a blue side, a yellow side, a green one with a toy. So we got the whole set here of four. Most of their products,  by the way are extremely well made. So it does the trick. And we’ll show this in action, this is just an unbagging today, we’ll show it in action down the road.

These four different tools, they call it the V1, V2, V3, V4. And this’ll take out the ignitions on a whole lot of cars like the Chevrolet Cruzes, Chevrolet Colorado, Silverado, the Alero. It is an interesting tool for me. It’s removing the ignition cylinders from GM vehicles without drilling or damaging which is very cool. We’ve had their other products even before. Some of these are earlier ones, but they’re as fantastic. Instructions comes with the bag.

The Deadbolts need help to withstand brute force attacks and kicking the door in. The following items are needed:

BC Security Industry Licensing – New Criteria Released

The Government of British Columbia, Security Licensing Division has released their new “laxed” requirements for obtaining a security license to work as a security worker (or a locksmith) in British Columbia. The BC Security Licensing requirements are as follows.

BC Locksmith Licensing Requirements

BC Locksmith Licensing New Rules:

It is now official in British Columbia, Canada the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General in charge of Locksmith Licensing issued by the Registrar of Security Services has now downgraded locksmith applicants and business to only three (3) requirements.

BC Locksmith Licensing Rules:

– Not presently be incarcerated. 
– Not recently been convicted of molesting the dead
– Have Cheque payable to “Province of BC”
