Open bike lock with a cordless grinder.

I use a Milwaukee Cordless Grinder with a cutting wheel to open most if not all Bike Locks. Just be careful where the sparks go, avoid flammable or plastics that can burn or pit. Wear Gloves and Safety glasses.

One of the best tools in the whole world is a cordless grinder with a cutting wheel. This saves my butt all the time. I could use a big pair of bolt cutters on this, but sometimes I find, when you use the bolt cutter, you can get a piece flying off and it could break a window or something or hurt somebody. I like this, you just have to be aware of the sparks will wreck your shirt. Also, you cannot be by anything flammable or anything plastic or anything glass. So just be really careful when the sparks shoot off of this thing. Usually, I aim the sparks so they go down, usually, it’s okay. So I am just going to cut off this inexpensive bike lock, I am going to use my cordless grinder. I always like to secure whatever I am cutting. I like to secure with a pair of vise grips. Now, wear your safety glasses, I always wear my gloves, just in case. Now, this is interesting. The battery is just a little tiny efficiency one. It is not big enough, not enough amperage, I guess to run the cordless grinder. So I am going to change my, swap my battery out. It’s the first time doing it with a little one. I just thought, “Oh, let’s give it a try.” Yes, look at that and look at, just sucking up the power on this. So I am going to just swap out the battery with a bigger one. I have heard about some people having some trouble with other tools. I have never had a problem with the drill. This is basically double. This is the bigger one. I have never had a problem using this. This is the first time using that. Let’s just swap it out real quick. Full power. And let’s finish it off. There we go. And remember this is hot hot hot. Don’t touch the ends, be careful you don’t burn off the bike. Yes, I could have picked this. It requires a special pick, it’s not that difficult, but I’m a for-profit locksmith. I am not going to make keys to this, it’s disposable. I think they paid 10 bucks for this. It costed more for the service call to get it off, but we didn’t destroy the bike. So, again, you could pick some of these, you could do whatever. My bottom line is I have to get this done fast and efficient and I just cut it off.
