How to Install a Security Plate on Aluminum Storefront Door | Mr. Locksmith™ White Rock

During the Pandemic Lockdown, we had so many break-ins on apartment buildings. They’re stealing the mail, they’re after the GST, they’re after the checks, they’re after whatever checks are coming in. We know for the next several months there’s gonna be a lot of people getting checks, so all the mailboxes getting broken into, we’ve secured this door better. It’s with an astragal. It will stop them from prying. They got the cameras have caught the people. Not caught, they videoed them breaking in. They’re just using little pry bars. They’re spreading the door. With the security plate, it stops them from spreading the door. So, it’s called an astragal or a security plate, whatever you want. This is made out of steel, it is a full length, and it slows them down from prying open the door.

We have had so many break-ins on apartment buildings that are stealing the mail. The criminal are after the GST cheques and trying to steal ID. We know for the next several months, there is going to be a lot of people getting checks, so all the mailboxes are getting broken into. We have secured this door better. It’s with Astragal Security Plate. It will prevent the criminals from prying the gap between the doors. The security camera has caught people on video, not caught, they video them breaking in. They are just using little pry bars they’re spreading the door. With these security plates, it stops them from spreading the door. It is called an Astragal or called a security plate, whatever you want. This is made out of steel. It’s a full length, and it slows them down from prying open the door. This is a typical apartment building and we have a rash, always a rash of break-ins.

To install the Astragal / Security Plate we are going remove all the hardware, and install a full-length Astragal. Remove all the existing hard, door push plates, bars and on some install we remove the lock too. This door has an electronic access control system so we are not reinstalling the door cylinder and in this case they only had a dummy cylinder. I like to install the top of the security plate and let gravity help to line up and mark the holes. I prefer to use sex bolts because it makes a nice flush mount. Do not use pop rivets to secure the plate to the door.

KEY PROGRAMMING – PROGRAM A KEY USING
TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS

This procedure works only if two (2) or more programmed
keys are available.

1- Insert the first programmed PATS key into the
ignition and turn the key from the OFF position to the
RUN position (maintain the key in the RUN position
for approximately 3 seconds).

2- Turn the first key to the OFF position and remove the
key from the ignition.

3- Within 10 seconds of turning the key to the OFF
position, insert a second programmed PATS key into
the ignition and turn the key from the OFF position
to the RUN position (maintain the key in the RUN
position for approximately 3 seconds).

4- Turn the second key to the OFF position and remove
the key from the ignition.

5- Within 10 seconds of turning the key to the OFF
position, insert the new unprogrammed PATS key into
the ignition and turn the key from the OFF position
to the RUN position (maintain the key in the RUN
position for approximately 3 seconds).

6- To program additional key(s) (up to a
total of 8 keys can be programmed), repeat steps 1
– 5 for each additional key.

Step-by-Step Ford Key Fob Programming Instructions:

1- Close the car doors, then open the driver-side door. Press the UNLOCK button on the driver-side door.

2- Next, turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times. …

3- Press any button on the Ford remote to be programmed. …

4- Have a second remote key fob? …

5- Finally, turn the ignition to OFF.

The PacLock Hockey Puck Lock is attached to the Hasp so no more misplacing or losing my Puck Locks. The PacLock Hasp just bolted into the existing holes of the Master Padlock Hasp. Quick and easy Remove and Replace.

I am having theft problems with my pickup truck and camper. My camper is constantly being broken into wherever and it’s frustrating the heck outta me. So it’s war on the crackheads. I am going to make life tough on them. They’ve been able to just go up to my truck and steal what they want. Propane tanks is my biggest problem at the moment but then I’m worried about my gas, my jerry cans, I’m worried about my recovery boards.

This is a hardened chain and it’s covered. The interesting thing about this lock is I can lag bolt it right through my camper and lock her down good. And I got this hardened chain. This first one is for my propane tanks. I will a 2nd Puck-Link Chain for my recovery boards in case I get a little bit of mud when I’m four-wheel driving. Or snow, you never know, through my recovery boards.

The other good thing is I can key this to anything I want. I can take these out and key it. But I can have one key fit for everything. One key fits them all. So stay tuned for the installation video.

Because of all of the ongoing theft with my pick-up truck and camper, even though I got alarms on everything. I am going heavy duty on everything. I’ve gotta protect my propane tanks, I’ve gotta protect my recovery boards, my gas, my jerry cans. I finally got fed up with losing propane tanks, and my truck getting broken into. They stole my hammock. They are just taking bits and pieces. This is what I’m doing. Talked to the guys at Pacific Lock. Said, ‘Hey, I’ve got some problems. I want to go heavy-duty.’ Hokey puck lock will go on the back door. This is pretty standard stuff. I got all my little cable locks and small chain I’ll just do the little padlocks to sort of keep things down on the roof rack, and bits and pieces in some of the luggage inside the camper. But this is what I’m really excited about is the hockey puck or the puck lock that has a chain in it. So I can put various length chains and right off the bat this is gonna go lag bolted on right the way through on my propane tanks. And this will work for anybody’s camper trailer, RV. This is going to be fun. So I’m probably going to get a couple more of these. I’m going to use it for my propane tanks, my recovery boards, or traction boards, and also my jerry cans. It has a crappy little lock on it and the price of gas now and the military cans, my military-style jerry cans, just cause they’re heavy-duty, they haven’t been stoled yet. But I’m going to put this on it. So, stay tuned for we’re going to install all this stuff. We’re going to upgrade the security on my camper. And this will be good for anybody with overland vehicles, keep the preppers happy, you can secure your stuff when it’s sitting in your driveway or wherever you have it. Replace Batteries In Universal Garage Door Remote

Pry open the case.
Remove the old battery. Dispose of old batteries properly.
Insert the replacement battery positive side up. Replace the battery with only 3V CR2032 coin cell batteries.
Replace the cover.

A bolt or padlock in the Garage door track / rails.

Hi, I’m Terry from Mr. Locksmith Garage Door Repair Abbotsford. In this video, I’m going to show you how to secure your home garage door. There are very simple methods, when you go away on vacation, to secure your home garage door, and make it safe. So you’re going on vacation. What’s the simplest way to secure your garage door?

The simplest way is to just disconnect your garage door. No power, nobody can use anything to open up this garage door, using keypads or remotes or whatever. So the simplest method to secure your garage door just pulls the plug. Simple, to the point, done.

What you’re trying to do is prevent them from forcing the garage door open. So if you put a bolt in here, it’s gonna secure it pretty good too. Or put your padlock to secure it. So again, just padlock, you can have it keyed to the house. Of course, I have Abloys, I’ve got lots of Abloys. So again, you have a… Just a bolt in the hole here, stops the roller from going up. Or put a padlock in, stops somebody from breaking into your house, opening up your door, and pulling your stuff out. So again, secure, padlock… You can do one on each side, or just one does the trick. The good thing with this is it stops them from, slows them down, from forcing the door open. But also, if they do bust into your house, they can’t take all your stuff out the garage door, which is pretty popular. A bolt would do the trick, padlocked is best. Of course, I like my Abloy padlocks. Another way of securing your garage door. I like to get a bigger pair, I can’t find them right now. But if something, this is quick. You just want to be above the roller. Put a vice grip in there. Lock her down. Bigger pair is better. You can run one of these, two of these, do whatever. Short, fast, vice grips. Bolt in there or padlock in there. Does the trick.
